Universal Beijing Resort — a TEA Thea Award winner — opened in September 2021. When COVID-19 prevented international teams from entering China, Riocube stepped in to ensure the park delivered on time and to standard.

Our contributions extended to two of its signature attractions: How to Train Your Dragon — The Untrainable and Jurassic World Adventure, both recipients of the TEA Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement.

At the opening ceremony, our founding family was honoured as invited guests.

Riocube is a themed entertainment engineering and innovation company founded in 2015 — bridging Western theme park standards with Chinese engineering speed and capability.

In January 2020, COVID-19 changed everything. When Universal Beijing Resort's international teams couldn't reach China, Riocube stepped in — ensuring the park delivered on time. When the gates opened in September 2021, our founding team was honored to attend as invited guests at the opening ceremony.

That story is what we are: a partner who shows up — especially when it matters most.

Functional safety and risk services: FEA (Failure Effect Analysis), OURA (Operation and Use Risk Assessment), SIL assessment, hazard management, and safety case documentation to IEC 61508.

Guest Interactive Systems

Standalone park-wide interactive systems enabling guests to trigger real effects — lights, water, sound — using props such as wands or devices. Similar to show control but guest-activated. e.g. Harry Potter wand experience.

All Xcube show elements are designed to the same safety integrity levels as ride systems — enabling seamless integration within a unified show control environment.

Animation Figure (AF)

Servo-driven characters with up to 32 degrees of freedom. IP-grade construction for outdoor and indoor environments. Full motion programming, commissioning, and maintenance packages.

Special Effects (SFX)

Fog, fire, water curtain, pneumatic burst, pyrotechnic simulation, and atmospheric systems — all integrated with show control and failsafe interlock design.

Show Action Equipment (SAE)

Motorised scenic lifts, revolves, wagons, flying rigs, and tracked show set movement. Designed to EN 17206 entertainment machinery standards.
